| Heat is the number one enemy of machine tools. Since the spindle is a prime source of heat in any machine, precautions must be taken to minimize any adverse affects. A cool spindle will last longer, provide more power, and greater precision. |
| VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) |

| Variable frequency drives (VFD’s), are also known as adjustable-frequency drives, variable-speed drives, AC drives, microdrives or inverter drives. When paired with the proper spindle motor a VFD allows for virtually infinite speed selection and spindle control. For example, a spindle with a normally rated maximum speed of 3,600 rpm could be increased to as much as 7,200 rpm. |
